The Bachelorette Ashley H. Episode 2
The Bachelorette: Ashley H. (Mondays @ 8PM on ABC)
I know I've been gone awhile. But I'm sitting here watching the Bachelorette with last season's dancing almost-dentist and her first official date of the season in which she's taken William, one of my front runners for her after last week's episode, to Las Vegas and totally scares him by taking him on a wedding adventure. I just couldn't NOT write about it.
Okay. There's also 17 other guys to think about, including Bentley who isn't even trying to hide his uninterest in Ashley to us via one-on-one interviews, but we also have the masked-crusader, Jeff, on a quest to change opinions.
But let's get back to William. He's tall, blonde, has a dimple. He's fun, plus he has a tragic backstory. He lost his dad to alcoholism, and was able to tell Ashley (who totally relates with her own dad's alcoholism) on the first date. Like, how cute is he?
William gets a rose. But, I'm worried that he'll be put in the friend zone down the road. I didn't see wow-za sparks when they kissed. Ashley tells us it's going to be hard to beat, so I guess we'll see.
Super Group Date to Las Vegas - They didn't even get a plane ride with her, since she stayed after her date. They sit to watch ABDC's original winners perform, until Ashley joins them. The guys are split into 2 crews and need to come up with their own choreography. The winning crew gets to perform and stay with Ashley, the rest gets sent home.
We got Rose Ceremony vs. Wedding Debacle OR
"No Rhythm Nation" vs. "Best Men"
No Rhythm Nation had Ashley in the whole performance and totally won out. Therefore, West, Bentley, Nick, Ben F., Blake and two other guys.
The poor guys that got sent home, they spent more time in the airport than they did with Ashley in Vegas... that blows.
Blake gets the first one on one time after the performance. She questions if they're too similar considering they're both dentists. He says it'll be twice as perfect.
West gets the 2nd 1-on-1 time and comes right out and tells her about his wife and how she died. He tells her he's ready to take the big step and ready to fall in love.
Meanwhile, back at Casa Bachelor... William tells the rest of the guys about his wedding-date.
Bentley gets the 3rd 1-on-1. He tells us that he's competitive and wants to win the rose. She's got a great body, but he's just not that into her. He teases her about getting the last rose last week and brings up his daughter. Somehow it ends up Ashley begging him to stay. WHAT!? Wasn't she warned about him?!
She gives him the Super Group Date Rose. **Puke**
Next date card comes and it's Mickey vs. J.P., they must flip the coin to determine who gets the one on one date with Ashley. It's Mickey, who by the way is looking much cuter this week compared to last week.
They start flipping for every part of the date. It's sort of annoying me already.
He starts with... "When's the last time you cried?" Really?
She says that it was watching last season and people being critical of her.
Meanwhile back at Casa Bachelor, it's all about Jeff and the mask. I'm not quite sure why he's wearing the mask around the other guys. It's just a weird concept for the show period. I think he missed out, because they had a show just like it that lasted, what, one season? In which all of the "bachelors" had to where masks... yeah, that worked out well. Plus, is he really hiding that much of his face? He could be hiding a wicked unibrow under there but what else really?
Back to Mickey... they start to talk about his family. His mother passed, but he turned it into a positive.
Back at Casa Bachelor, J.P. is frustrated about losing out on the date.
Back to Mickey... Ashley wants to flip a coin about whether he gets the rose or not. Lucky him, it comes up his way. He gets the Date Rose. She tells him she would have given it to him either way. The end the date with a walk on the "beach" and a concert by Colbie Calliat (love her!). I think Mickey's rising up the ranks. The kisses seemed much more passionate than her kisses with William, just saying.
COCKTAIL PARTY
Tensions are high. Ashley gives hugs all around.
J.P. gets the first alone time with Ashley. He pulls out a coin, hoping for a kiss. He wins. They kiss. And not just a simple peck. She basically reassures him he'll be getting a rose.
William gets on West and some other guys nerves.
Nick starts dancing with Ashley. Is that square dancing? I think it was. Then William sneaks in there. And tells her he told the guys how romantic the date was. They kiss, and Masked-Jeff was watching... creepy!
Masked-Jeff gets him alone time with Ashley... ummm, in the dark. He tells her he had a brain hemorrage. So a scar is hiding underneath? He tells her also that he's divorced, but ahhh... Matt comes in to interrupt.
Ben C. gets some time next. He starts by making her laugh, and tells her that he likes to dance...
William starts talking about his date again... And Bentley tells us that Ashley isn't his type, again, but how much he's competitive.
I don't understand him. Why force things? Why completely lead her on for no reason other than "winning out" over the other guys? Especially when you have no interest in the prize... which is a relationship with Ashley.
He tells us that the kiss sucked and tells us there's no way he'll last 2 months. Poor Ashley has no clue, and tells us she's a good judge of honesty. Shame. She's going to feel like fool watching this back, especially since she was pre-warned.
ROSE CEREMONY
Okay, so William, Bentley and Mickey all have roses from their respective dates. 12 more roses to hand out, 3 guys going home.
West, Constantine, Ryan P., Ben C., Nick, Ames, Lucas, Masked-Jeff, J.P., Chris, Ben F.
AND the last rose of the night goes to.,. Blake.
That means Hairstylist Stephen, Momma-Boy Matt and Fan-tastic Ryan M. were sent packing.
Next week it seems like things go a bit wrong for the bachelorette... William seems to take some comedic-roasting too far and Bentley is ready to make her cry...
Yikes, to be Ashley next week.
