Okay, so Leverage is a show on TNT, Wednesday nights at 9 P.M.
Synopsis: Leverage follows a five-person team of thieves, computer experts and con artists, headed up by former insurance investigator Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton), who use their skills to right corporate and governmental injustices inflicted on common citizens. The team was formed in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles headquarters in Season One. Although disbanded at the end of the first season, the team members gathered, then reformed in Boston after persuading Ford to lead them again, and have set up a new base in Ford's loft apartment for this season! The reasons you should watch
1. The show's premise: Instead of the typical NCIS/Law&Order/CSI hoopla about finding the bad guys and putting them in jail, this show is about finding the bad guys and making the PAY. If that means stealing the money back that the bad guy took from unexpecting people or completely ruining the bad guy's reputation and credibility (see last night's episode), then that's what it means.
2. How they do what they do: This show started when four con-artists with varying skills and one ex-insurance guy do a job and get jipped out of their payment. They team up against the guy who hired them and got their money, and some. They then decide they could be Good, Bad Guys. The twists and turns that happen throughout each episode is downright MUST-SEE TV.
3. The Characters/Actors:
Sophie Devereaux (Played by Gina Bellman): She's a British actress with a taste for art theft and has a romantic past with Nate Ford. Her character is a horrible actress, except for when she's on a con, which I find pretty fun to watch, considering you get to see both sides.
Eliot Spencer (played by Christian Kane: He'a highly skilled martial artist, weapons and retrieval expert. If you like guys with long hair that can take down a whole group of bad guys within seconds, he's the character for you. Oh, and he has a mushy center deep down under the hard shell.
Alec Hardison (Played by Aldis Hodge): He's the computer/Internet specialist and hacker. He has some of the best jokes/lines of the characters AND he makes you feel nervous about the amount of access he has to just about anything via his keyboard.
AND MY FAVORITE
Parker (Played by Beth Riesgraf): She's the risk-taking thief, at-burglar, and explosives expert. She's the most peculiar of the characters and we seen bits and pieces of her slighted past. And she's into cons merely for the thrill of it, not for money.4. The way the cast interacts/The writing: I think this is one of the most clever scripted shows on TV. It has thrills, laughter, excitement, action, romance, emotional storylines. I just think YOU must watch it.
