Tee Vee: Project Runway (8/27)

Challenge: 'Pregnancy Chic' look for Rebecca Romjin, who was pregnant with her twin girls Charlie & Dolly at the time.

This being only the second week of the season, I still don't have a lot to say for all of the contestants and since the show focused almost entirely on the Bottom 3, let's just cut to it shall we?

Bottom 3:

Ra'mon: His 'Bowling Bag' purple(s) and grey color blocked dress, was semi-flattering from the front (minus the ill-fitting breast area and the puckering around the belly) and completely unflattering from the side. The light grey color blocks seemed to be pointing at the oversized belly and the seemed too tight and short for anyone to actually want to wear while pregnant.

Mitchell: I'm dubbing him the 'Fake it til you make it' guy. Although I'm sure he has a lot of experience in the marketing of clothes, the boy CANNOT sew. I don't see him lasting another Bottom 3, and I hope he's gone soon. His shorts started off humorously big (two of the women designers fit into them) to being too short and not well executed on the runway.

Malvin: The Auf'd! His concept was a 'Mother Hen and her Egg'. I draped white fabric from one shoulder and around the belly (that resembled a sling some mother's wear after-birth to carry around their newborn) and had black feathers and chicken thigh leggings. Although I wish it was Mitchell, it's hard to argue with 4 mother-judges.

Top 3:

Louise: My Fav du jour! Rebecca liked the lingerie inspired scarlett dress, saying she'd wear it on a date with her hubby. I think Louise put a lot of thought and effort into the dress (the pleating of the breasts, the layering of the skirt). I particularly liked the dyed lace applicae. (That's 2 weeks in a row I like the lace garmet the best...sue me...I like lace.)

Althea: She impressed the judges with her navy blue and white jersey floor-length gown. I agreed with Monique L. that the color was gorgeous and slimming and that the stripes in the back were very flattering. I think if the neck line was a little more covered she would have had a better chance of winning this round.

Shirin: The Winner! Shirin did a draped empire waisted dress in maroon and a charcoal wool coat lined in a coordinating print. The hand-work detail of the empire waist line as well as the beautiful coat were the most ready-to-wear out of all the designs and she took home the win AND immunity for next week.

Are there others standing out to you!?
