OBSESSED
Obsessed is a 2009 thriller film directed by Steve Shill and written by David Loughery. Derek Charles(Idris Elba) is the Executive Vice President of Gage Bendix and has received a recent promotion from his boss (Bruce McGill). He is happily married to Sharon Charles (Beyoncé Knowles), who is pursuing her business degree. They have a son, Kyle. However, a new temporary worker, Lisa Sheridan (Ali Larter) begins to unnerve him. Lisa eventually attempts to seduce him, but he repeatedly rejects her advances. Lisa becomes obsessed and begins to manipulate Derek and Sharon's relationship, eventually becoming violent. (Thanks Wiki!)
My Thoughts: Let me put it out there. I would have seen this movie in the theater, but no one would go with me. About a half hour into this movie my husband decided he was done with it, it was too slow for him. Even with Ali Larter and Beyonce as eye candy, he couldn't make it through. I sat through it, hoping it would move faster, it didn't. Did it build in suspense, yes.
Upside: Ali Larter is one crazy b*tch. She plays the character really well, you really believe this person has a serious problem.
Downside: Predictability. This movie was so predictable I was quoting lines before they even said them and setting up the next scene with ease.
Upside: The girl v. girl fight scene. I don't feel like I'm spoiling this since they show it in the trailer. But it was pretty fun to watch.
Downside: The end of the girl v. girl fight scene. Now I won't spoil this for those of you who want to watch it, but it's a pretty crappy ending.
Downside: All guys who actually are cheating on their spouse now have another excuse.
I give this movie barely 2 out of 5 stars.
