Fashion Police 3/3/11
Heyyyyy! This is my Fashion Police, week in review 3/3/11. Every Thursday I'm going to click my way through www.people.com 'Last Night's Look: Hit or Miss?' and tell you what I like and what I didn't.

OSCAR PARTY DRESSES
LOVE – Selena Gomez (pictured with matching beau Justin Bieber) in a stunning red Dolce & Gabbana dress with plunging neckline, ribbon waist detail and matching beaded box clutch to the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in West Hollywood.
LOVE – Taylor Swift in an strapless gold and crystal encrusted Zuhair Murad mini-dress paired with sparking clutch and golden peep toe shoes from Jimmy Choo to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood. I love the gold on her, think the dress was sexy and young and I liked her hair and make-up.
LIKE – Cameron Diaz in a one shoulder Carolina Herrera animal-print mini-dress with Anita Ko earrings, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo booties to the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in West Hollywood. Her legs are stunning, but I think the dress might be a tad too short, but I think the animal-print is great.
LIKE – Jessica Biel in a strappy gold and silver Atelier Versace Collection gown to the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in West Hollywood. She looks like she could be that golden statue herself. It’s quite lovely.
HATE – Heidi Klum in a mirrored bodice, gray skirted Julien Macdonald gown with high slit and glittering Christian Louboutin shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch for the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood. I don’t think this dress photographs well, casting odd light on her face and the mirrored fabric doesn’t lie well on her frame.
HATE – Zoe Saldana in a two-tone (red & pink) Prabal Gurung frock, Cartier jewels and a Louis Vuitton bag to the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in West Hollywood. I think the shoes are great, but I don’t like anything else really.
INDIE SPIRIT AWARDS
LOVE – Kate Walsh in a one-shoulder Max Mara white wrapped frock and nude pointy-pumps. I love the subtle tint of peachy-pink in the ruffle and think the white looks amazing on her.
LIKE – Natalie Portman in an empire-waisted canary and beige Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci mini-dress and Cartier yellow gold cocktail ring. I love the color combination, but I’m not a fan of how the top fits her.
HATE – Kerry Washington in a Dolce & Gabbana floral sheath with puffy-shouldered long-sleeves paired with blunt bangs, red suede Sergio Rossi pumps and a Roger Vivier leopard-print clutch. I’m not a fan of any part of this outfit, from the print, to the silhouette, to the hair to the accessories.
PURPLE-PINK FROCKS
LOVE – Jennifer Hudson in a cleavage bearing fuchsia mini-dress, nude pumps and long sleek hair to the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon in LA. She just looks amazing lately; I think the color is beautiful on her and the hair is diva-licious!
LIKE – Ashley Tisdale in a jean jacket over a concert tee and a purple floral mini-skirt while out in Beverly Hills. I think she does this style really well; kind of laid back and 80s punk; unique but put together with thought. PLUS the guy behind her seems to be enjoying the view! haha
HATE – Vanessa Hudgens in a strapless colorful print Julien Macdonald dress, paired with Nues jewelry and bright blue pumps to her Beastly premiere in LA. I love the print, but I think the dress is ill-fitting (see chest area) and the draping and train is odd.
CREAMY
LOVE - Amy Adams in a black bow-wrapped Carolina Herrera cream-colored sheath with subtle floral print paired with classic black peep-toe pumps and box clutch at the Hollywood Reporter party in LA. I love the neckline of this dress and the silhouette on her. Plus her make-up and hair are lovely… winner!
LIKE – Naomi Watts in a white chiffon blouse paired with matching skirt topped by a Haute Couture tweed Chanel shrug. It’s light and hip and fun and girly. Well done.
HATE – Claire Danes in a modern ivory Calvin Klein Collection wrap dress with plunging neckline with matching pumps and a gold box clutch to the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party. I don’t like how this just hangs on her body as if she were a hanger. It seems more like a robe than a dress.
MINI-DRESSES
LOVE – Mila Kunis in a strapless red tier-draped mini-dress paired with Brian Atwood nude patent pumps and Cartier jewels to the Hollywood Vanity Fair party. The dress is super-sexy but in a totally fun, laid-back way. Love it.
LIKE – Rihanna in a sexy black shirt-dress with matching pointed pumps and long straight locks while shopping in Sydney. I think this look is casual with a sexy twist, and I really dig her long red ‘do and cold jewelry.
HATE – Michelle Trachtenberg in a one-shoulder ruffled and beaded deep gray mini-dress with shiny metallic pointy-toe pumps and oversized clutch to the LA premiere of Take Me Home Tonight. I think the cut of the dress is wrong for her body type and the sheen of the shoes paired with her white skin doesn't mesh...
STYLE MAVEN of the WEEK – NICOLE RICHIE
Black, White and Animal Printed goodness…
LOVE – Nicole Richie in an off-the-shoulder black mini-dress with stacked bangles and beachy waves paired with platform pumps to the QVC Red Carpet Style Party in Beverly Hills. She usually goes for a more retro look, but I think this simple black dress and wild curls really hits the right spot!
LOVE – Nicole Richie in a white peek-a-boo gown with a thigh-high slit, Christian Louboutin shoes and dramatic make-up to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar viewing party. I think the cut-outs are in all the right places and the dress fits and flaunts her well. I also dig the heavy eye make-up and deep lip color.
LIKE – Nicole Richie in a slimming all-black ensemble paired with a fierce leapord coat and brimmed hat and aviator sunglasses for a flight out of LAX. She looks like what the Olsen Twins SHOULD look like.
LIKE - Nicole Richie in a white top and cropped black jacket with charcoal skirt and black leggings accessorized with a chain-link purse and retro-shades while taking a break from Paris Fashion Week at a local cafe. I love the skirt and glasses!
