American Idol, Top 8 are Announced
American Idol 10 (Wednesdays & Thursdays at 8PM on FOX)
America. Seriously, what the F- is wrong with you this season? I gave you 5 names that I'd be totally okay with seeing get the boot tonight. F-I-V-E! And you go and chose the one person I really felt would have been another extremely talented and successful American Idol. Like a Kelly Clarkson or a Carrie Underwood. Like that level of success after this show. You blew it. And for what?
This is the one time I really wished that Simon Cowell was around this season. I think the judges are being too nice. Do they really think everyone is great and perfect and can be a really successful American Idol? Because if they do, they're just as delusional as the voting public. They can't be shocked if they don't really criticize each contestant and really make their favorites known too.
I really don't even want to recap the night for you, that's how upset I am that the person that went home went home. The only thing that makes me not as upset is that fact that I think she'll make it anyway. Total Jennifer Hudson or Daughtry style. Maybe not in the movie-making, Oscar-winning way, but, if we don't see her making waves in the music lane by next year I'll be completely shocked.
I'm going to leave the Group Number (one of their best to date), the Ford Music Commerical, and the montage clips, even the guest appearances mostly out of this post. I'll just highlight them here before we get to what went down. Russell Brand came to lighten up the mood and talk about stage presence. Gwen Stefani came in to dress the women her her clothing line. Constantine came back to rock out and plug his Rock of Ages tour. And Iggy Pop went shirtless and jumped around the stage.
Seacrest brought 3 up each time, sending 1 to the Stools of Doom.
The first 3:
LAUREN vs. CASEY vs. STEFANO
LAUREN is SAFE.
CASEY is SAFE.
STEFANO is in the BOTTOM 3.
No real surprise there. He's been in the bottom before, he's the last wild card standing, and although he finally conveyed that emotion in a song, I'm not sure he has what it takes to be a successful American Idol.
The next 3:
PAUL vs. PIA vs. SCOTT
SCOTT is SAFE.
PAUL is SAFE.
PIA is in the BOTTOM 3.
Dumb. America. But I still wasn't that upset because a Bottom 3 appearance can actually be a good thing.
The final 3:
JACOB vs. HALEY vs. JAMES
JAMES is SAFE.
HALEY is SAFE.
JACOB is in the BOTTOM 3.
Really, not surprised. I think his comment didn't lend him any favors, he went first during the performance night, and I don't see him as a successful American Idol in the mainstream pop arena.
So the Bottom 3 are...
JACOB vs. PIA vs. STEFANO
JACOB is SAFE.
That means it's down to PIA vs. STEFANO.
I think everyone was thinking it was Stefano's time to go home, but Seacrest said someone else's name.

The judges didn't understand what happened. J.Lo almost cried, Randy said he was mad for the first time on the show and S.Ty called out America's lack of passion.

PIA! PIA?! PIA is ELIMINATED!? Okay, now I'm upset again. If I could say anything to Pia it would be... Hey, girl. Don't worry, you're gonna make it... just hit the ground hard and run.
The audience boo'd like crazy, we saw her exit clip... then she sang her swan song. "I'll Stand By You", What an emotional song choice and she rocked it. My number one rank since the first performance on the main-stage is gone. I'll miss you but I wish you all the luck in the world, although I doubt you need that much.
