American Idol Top 13 Week Rumors
American Idol (Wednesdays & Thursdays at 8PM on FOX)
Season 10 is officially here. I'm going to put it in Charlie Sheen language of either WINNING (things that are awesome) or TROLL (things that suck), but first...
SONG CHOICE SPOLIERS!!
Singer, song choice, Artist, My Thoughts, Rumored Judges' critique
1. Lauren Alaina Any Man of Mine (Shania Twain)
~It's a great song, and still in her wheel-house of upbeat country~
*Mixed Feedback from the Judges
2. Casey Abrams With A Little Help From My Friends (Joe Cocker)
~Who doesn't love this song, looking forward to his version of it~
*Positive Feeback from the Judges
3. Ashton Jones When You Tell Me That You Love Me (Diana Ross)
~Well, it's time to put up or shut up. The judges compared her to Diana Ross, let's see if she lives up to it~
*Negative Feedback from the Judges
4. Paul McDonald Come Pick Me Up (Ryan Adams)
~Song/Artist doesn't sound familiar to me, we'll see if he makes me a fan~
*Mixed Feedback from the Judges
5. Pia Toscano All By Myself (Celine Dion)
~Taking on Celine is a big deal... can she get another standing O?"
*Positive Feedback from the Judges
~Interesting song choice for him, I'm interested to see how he makes it his own~
*Positve Feedback from the Judges
7. Haley Reinhart Blue (LeAnn Rimes)
~I'm scared. This is a hard song that launched LeAnn Rimes' career, and I don't think Haley's got the range~
*Mixed/Negative Feedback from the Judges
8. Jacob Lusk I Believe I Can Fly (R. Kelly) With Gospel Singers!
~Emotional song. Check. I hope he shows the same restraint with it that he did last week~
*Positive Feedback from the Judges
9. Thia Megia Smile (Michael Jackson)
~Another "quiet moment" from Thia, and she's putting Randy's Michael Jackson comparison to the test...I think she needs to pop more~
*Mixed Feedback from the Judges
10. Stefano Langone Lately (Stevie Wonder)
~I hope he brings it like he did during the Wild Card round~
*Mixed/Positive Feedback from the Judges
11. Karen Rodriguez I Could Fall In Love (Selena)
~In her wheel-house... wonder if she'll sing in Spanish again~
*Unknown Feedback
12. Scotty McCreery The River (Garth Brooks)
~I'm glad he's sticking to country, but branching out to other artists~
*Unknown Feedback
13. Naima Adedapo Umbrella (Rihanna)
~Interesting pick that I wouldn't have thought of, I hope it's less loungy than her performance last week, and more controlled than her Wild Card song~
*Mixed/Negative Feedback
WINNING - We got the Top 13 and America has all the power. This week they'll sing songs "by their favorite artists", which means that they can sing basically anything they want again this week.
TROLL - This week's performances will be "Pre-Taped" again. Producer Nigel Lythgoe states that its because of the new judges, the new director and some sound issues they're experiencing in the studio that they want to get right before going LIVE... He also says there's no truth to any manipulation on the contestants' vocals. Supposedly they'll be ready to go LIVE soon, and I for one can't wait... I think it adds more excitment to the proceedings...
WINNING - Because of the "Pre-Taping" I should have the song list for you by tomorrow... so stay tuned!
WINNING - Winner David Cook will be back to perform the new elimination song for the season on Thursday's Results show, a cover of "Don't You (Forget About Me)"
TROLL - Diddy-Dirty Money is set to perform on Thursday's results show. I'm over Diddy and his Dirty Money...
WINNING - Adam Lambert is also set to perform on Thursday's results show, an acoustic version of his song "Aftermath"
TROLL - For American Idol NOT bringing back winner, Kris Allen singing his latest single "Alright With Me", or another track and promoting an actual winner...
More as they come...
