American Idol Top 12 Girls Ranked
American Idol Season 10 (multiple days a week on FOX)
The Top 24 was finally revealed after numerous audition rounds, Hollywood Rounds and even a Las Vegas Beatles round... But Season 10 is officially started. We have the Top 12 Girls and the Top 12 guys.
They performed for America's votes this week until we whittle it down to the Top 10 (or 13 with wild cards)...
Remember, this is just my opinion... and any AI fan knows that these early voting rounds can be highly unpredictable. (Don't be afraid to voice your opinions in the comments!) I'm just glad AI allowed us to meet all of the Top 24 before having to vote for them next week... Here are my thoughts of the GIRLS in ranking order: #1 is my favorite, down to #12 my least favorite. 1. Pia Toscano

Top 12 Girls Perform - "I'll Stand By You" 8.75/10 (rank # 1)
Just like with Haley, I'm just not a fan of Pia's voice... or at least what I've heard of it. She's beautiful and has a very sweet, unassuming personality with is really great but for me her voice has too much vibrato in it to be pleasing to the ear. Maybe she'll change my mind, but I kind of doubt it. (rank # 11)

2. Lauren Turner

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Seven Day Fool" 8.25/10 (rank # 2)
Lauren's probably one of the lesser known contestants because of her lack of air-time, however those few clips really stood out for me. Particular her duet in Vegas for "Let it Be" which gave me "goose pimples". I think she's a power-house vocalist and has an attitude to give her performances some sass. I hope she opens up with a "WOW!" song to make sure America doesn't count her out. (rank # 4)

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Out Here On My Own" 8.25/10 (rank # 3)
Thia's one of the most featured girls who made it to the Top 24, getting air-time almost every week since her audition, but for me her initial audition of "Chasing Pavements" was by far the best which is disappointing. I think she's got a great voice, but her stage style and vocals seem very "old-school" in my opinion (like she's just imitating past stars instead of being herself). I'm hoping she can live up to the hype, but I'm not going to hold my breath. (rank # 8)

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Summertime" 8/10 (rank # 4)
For me, she's the most interesting going into the voting rounds. We know her back-story: she's 25-years old with two young kids working as a janitor at Summerfest. You immediately want to root for her. Pair that with the fact that she's got a very unique look/style. Then, all the times we've heard her sing have been solid, but they haven't been cramming it down our throats. She was the first to be named Top 24 and pulling for her to come out strong this first week. (rank # 1)

5. Kendra Chantelle

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Impossible" 8/10 (rank # 5)
Kendra's another contestant that hasn't seen much air-time, but again the times I did hear her, she stood out, particular with a short clip of "Georgia on my Mind" which she had soul and depth to her voice. I think she showed she's got some personality too when talking with the judges during final judging and I hope she can win over America in the next round. (rank # 6)

6. Ashthon Jones

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Love Over Me" 7.75/10 (rank # 6)
The girl is stunning (like a mix between Beyonce & Rihanna) and seems incredibly sweet (her group welcomed Ashley Sullivan back in after her meltdown H.Group week). Every time she's been on stage/camera my eyes go directly to her; she's got stage presence seeping out of her pores. Then she follows it up some amazing pipes and great song choices. If she keeps that up, she can go really far. (rank # 3)

7. Karen Rodriguez

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Hero" 7.75/10 (rank # 7)
Karen walked into her LA Audition because of a MySpace video she submitted. She's a big J.Lo fan (she even sang for her during TRL), but she lights up the stage all by herself. She has a very bubbly personality, that Latin soul/R&B sound to her voice that makes her unique. I'm looking forward to seeing how she progresses during the show. (rank # 5)

8. Lauren Alaina

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Turn On The Radio" 7.75/10 (rank # 8)
Lauren's probably THE MOST featured girl who made it to the Top 24 and I kind of don't get it. She's sang the same song "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" multiple times and had some big stinkers (think "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Hello, Goodbye"). The judges however she the star-spark in her. That I get, she bubbly, fun and can work a crowd... I'm just not sure her vocals will live up to the hype once the votes are being counted. Or maybe I'm just suffering from "over-exposure-back-lash syndrome" with her (and Thia). (rank # 9)

With Haley, I'm just not a fan of her voice... or at least what I've heard of it. I think she's got a great look, and the tone of her voice is really great (husky) but I think she adds too many runs and growls that make it not my cup of tea. I'll be interested to see if she can change my mind with next week's song. (rank # 10)

10. Ta-Tynisa Wilson

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Only Girl (In The World) 7/10 (rank # 10)
Ta-Tynisa has landed on the bottom of my list mostly because she's been featured, but not very flatteringly in these early rounds. She forgot the words to "I Hope You Dance", she didn't impress the judges (minus S.Ty) in Las Vegas, etc. I'm worried for her going into this next round... She's got to bring it. HARD. And hope comparisons between her and Ashthon don't play a roll. (rank # 12)

11. Rachel Zevita

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Criminal" 6.5/10 (rank # 11)
Rachel. I remember her from her opera audition way back in Season 6, just like J.Lo did. But she's grown up and grown into a much cooler style, in my opinion. She hasn't been until just the past couple of episodes where she laid it all out on the stage and definitely made me take notice. If she can do that in the first few rounds AND keep the buzz with her eclectic outfits, she could easily make it far (like Siobhan Magnus). (rank # 2)

12. Julie Zorilla

Top 12 Girls Performance - "Breakway" 5/10 (rank # 12)
Julie is beautiful. She has style from head to toe. She can play piano and guitar. But, I'm right alongside the judges when she's on stage, she's putting on an act instead of making a connection with the music/audience. I want to like her, she has "star" written all over her... I'm just still worried she's more style over substance. Hopefully she can prove me wrong next week. (rank # 7)
