American Idol Top 11 Result Show
American Idol 10 (Wednesday & Thursday at 8PM on FOX)
Now, I told you in my recap yesterday that producer Nigel Lythgoe was tweeting that last night's results' show was going to be a shocker, but I had no idea it'd be this BIG of a shocker. I only correctly named 1 from the Bottom 3 last night. But I'm getting ahead of myself here, because there was a jam-packed show.
First we had to suffer through another Group Number of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", but at least I liked all the sparkling white dresses of the ladies and the tux-clad guys. (But Haley should never do a side-pony-tail like that every again.)
But then that Group Number ended with the AI Stage Door opening, and Stevie Wonder and his keyboard rolling out for medley of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" into a "Happy Birthday" to Steven Tyler.
Pia and Lauren held a cake, while Naima sported a techni-colored painting of the birthday boy himself....
"I'm speechless" was all S.Ty could get out before commerical.

Then we sat through the horrible Ford Music Video and then a segment with the gracious Marc Anthony helping the kids figure out their ear buds (he's really into the show too! LOVE it.)
Then we got some results.
PIA vs. LAUREN vs. SCOTT
They're ALL SAFE!!
Then we watched Sugarland perform their latest single "Stuck Like Glue"

Her outfit was crazy, but the song is totally fun and super catchy.
Then we got a segment about James' love of Pro-Wrestling, and watched them have their own little fight at the mansion (they've since moved out of because they fear it's haunted... really)
Then Seacrest brought up 2 more for results...
PAUL vs. JAMES
He split them across the stage, goes through his normal thing, then tells them they're NOT safe...
Then Hulk Hogan walks through the AI Stage Door... Goes through his whole pro-wrestling thing, tells them they're NOT in the Bottom 3 and punches Ryan in the face. LOVE.

After a commerical break, Seacrest brings more up for results....
JACOB vs. THIA vs. STEFANO
Jacob is SAFE!
Thia AND Stefano are in the BOTTOM 3!
So that left one more spot, and 3 more contestants...
CASEY vs. HALEY vs. NAIMA

Naima is SAFE.
She thought for sure it'd be her and Haley left standing there. One's in the Bottom 3, the other is safe. Haley rolled her eyes as if to say... duh, it's me.

Casey is in the BOTTOM 3!

WHAT!? So that means Casey, Stefano and Thia are this week's Bottom 3. I was still semi-okay with this... I thought it would easily be Thia leaving tonight and I think the judges would have used the save on either of the two guys. Stefano would have had to sing for his life though... with his eyes open to get that spot for sure though.
BUT, we had to watch the beautiful Jennifer Hudson perform her new single "Where You At". Now, that's an emotionally connected performer. And I won't mention Ryan's flub calling her an "Idol Winner" because I could tell he knew he said it, and it was wrong... so whatever.

Then, Seacrest sends one person back to safety. (I assumed it would be Casey; I was wrong.)
THIA is SAFE!
That means it's either CASEY or STEFANO

Ryan then gives the news...
STEFANO is SAFE!
CASEY is in DANGER of ELIMINATION.
There was a long bro-hug going on between Casey & Stefano that Seacrest had to break up before asking Casey what his last song was going to be.
"I Don't Need No Doctor"
It only took him a few lines of the lyrics before Seacrest was back on stage, waving off the music and dragging Casey back to mid-stage.

S.Ty couldn't wait and told him they were going to use the save on him. Casey seriously looked like he was going to pass out.

Once Casey realized what was happening, he literally couldn't believe it. Asking why'd they use it so early. Finally once everything calmed down a little bit, J.Lo explained it.
They don't know why he was on the bottom, but that maybe these past few weeks he was delivering more of the "antics" than his musical soul. J.Lo wants him to drop the act and show America his musical-chops. They were shocked and he deserves to be there.
After rounds of hugs, the Top 11 will all be going on tour... But because the Judges' Save was used, 2 contestants will go home next week. The theme for next week is "Songs from the 80s".
PHEW... Unexpected night, to say the least. Not that I had my bets placed on Casey to win before this, but I thought people liked him. Maybe it was a thing of "Oh, he'll be safe... I'll vote for Haley or Naima because I know they don't get as many votes and I liked their song this week" I don't know. Maybe this season won't be as predictable as I thought.
